Comprehensive Dentistry

Traditional dental care usually involves repairing the problem, such as a broken tooth, but not really addressing why the tooth broke in the first place. This reparation approach is more of a temporary fix. Comprehensive dentistry treats your mouth as a dynamic system of biology, physiology and psychology. In this complex system, careful diagnosis, treatment planning and restorations all play crucial parts in the longevity of your dentition.

Non-Metal Fillings

Composite or resin filling, a tooth-colored filling, provides good durability and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that need to withstand moderate chewing pressure. Less tooth structure is removed when the dentist prepares the tooth, and results in a smaller filling than that of an amalgam (silver filling).

A crown is usually needed to cover and support a tooth with a large filling when there isn't enough tooth left. It can be used to protect a weak tooth from breaking or restore one that's already broken. A crown is also a good way to cover teeth that are discolored or badly shaped.

Dr. Pham mostly does partial crowns or onlays, if the situation is appropriate, which tends to be more conservative and less destructive than the traditional crowns.

A bridge may help maintain the shape of your face, as well as alleviating the stress in your bite by replacing missing teeth. Sometimes called a fixed partial denture, a bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth, looks great and literally bridges the gap where one or more teeth may have been.

Dental Implants

For most people, dental implants offer a smile that looks and feels very natural. Surgically placed below the gums, implants serve as a base for individual replacement teeth, bridges or a denture. Implants offer a natural feel and secure fit more comfortable than conventional substitutes.

Teeth Whitening

In-office - Usually done in 90 minutes at chair side, bleaching gel is applied to the teeth.

At-home - There are several types of products available for use at home, which can either be dispensed by a dentist or purchased over-the-counter. If you obtain the bleaching gel from your dentist, he or she will make a custom-fitted mouth guard that will precisely fit your teeth.

Veneers are are thin, custom-made shells crafted of tooth-colored materials which can transform cracked, chipped, discolored, rotated or deformed teeth to a more natural smile. They are placed on top of your teeth to correct nature's mistake or the results of an injury and give you a beautiful smile.
